ABOUT ROSS BARNES
Ross began his journey at the age of 18 years old studying Art & Design at Ravensbourne College and later attending Leeds Metropolitan University where he continued his studies and passion for detailed woodworking by specialising in Furniture Design. After graduating he was offered the opportunity of two scholarship placements; the Chippendale School of Furniture in Edinburgh, and Buckinghamshire University's prestigious MA Furniture Design course.
After working in the business sector for over 10 years Ross decided to pursue a dream of establishing his own carpentry & joinery business and rekindle his passion for woodwork and design. To further expand his skill sets and establish the business within the industry Ross obtained a City & Guilds qualification in Site Carpentry were he was awarded a Distinction.
Woodwork and design has always been a passion and Ross has become well trusted respected by colleagues and clientele.
PERSONAl APPROACH
East Sussex Carpentry's mission is to provide an honest, reliable and professional carpentry and joinery service. Creating these strong foundations has enabled us to become trusted within the industry and grow strong relationships with our clients, suppliers and other businesses. Having previously worked in the corporate sector, Ross is able to draw upon 10+ years of business acumen and customer experiences to ensure that as a business we go that extra mile. At the heart of this is good communication, which is pivotal when seeing projects through to completion within the agreed timescales and budget.
In some cases we like to support quotations with computer aided design (CAD) images to help the client visualise the final product whilst setting clear expectations. However, in all cases during the quotation process we still value face-to-face conversations to discuss all options and site visits will be scheduled at the earliest convenience. We can also arrange video consultations to fit around client busy work/life schedules. Despite being a small family run business, we operate as a large cooperation which why our existing clientele keep coming back to us.
